HHM CPAS welcomes the head of consulting services, accountant
HHM Certified Public Accountants, a full-service CPA and consulting firm with locations in Chattanooga and Memphis, has hired Blake Kinder, CFA, as director and Joseph Burd as staff accountant in its Chattanooga office, according to A press release.
Kinder is responsible for HHM’s advisory services group. With over a decade of experience in corporate and private finance, Kinder specializes in mergers and acquisitions, valuations and general advice for corporate clients.
Prior to joining HHM, Kinder worked in corporate strategy and treasury at Signal Energy Constructors. Kinder holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and earned an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
“We are fortunate to add Blake to our team of advisors,” said Jon Paul Davis, senior partner in HHM’s advisory services department in the same statement. “His dynamic experience will be an asset as we continue to grow our advisory services.”
Also joining the firm is Joseph Burd, who completed a year-and-a-half internship in HHM’s audit department, and looks forward to continuing to assist clients as an accountant. In her position, Burd prepares personal and business income tax returns, performs field audits and prepares financial statements.
In May 2022, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting.
Smith appointed treasury sales agent at First Horizon Bank
First Horizon Bank recently appointed Scott Smith as Head of Cash Management Sales in Chattanooga.
Smith has 17 years of banking experience with more than 13 years in commercial banking, according to a press release. He started his career at JPMorgan Chase Bank in the commercial real estate group and later moved into corporate banking. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Houston.
As a Cash Management Sales Agent, Smith will develop cash management leads across all business lines in the Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia markets. He will work closely with Relationship Managers to develop, review and analyze client needs as well as provide consultative solutions. He is also responsible for helping clients find efficiencies using multiple banking and financial products to help smooth cash flow and payments.

Heed Public Relations Adds Burr as Senior Strategist
Heed Public Relations, a Chattanooga-based public relations agency, added Shelby Burr as senior public relations and communications strategist. In this role, she will develop successful communication strategies and implement creative solutions to enhance clients’ business needs.
