Actress Amber Heard said her ex-husband, actor Johnny Depp, slapped and kicked her in 2014, while on a private flight from Boston to Los Angeles. The plane trip has become one of the most scrutinized episodes in the trial of Depp’s $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard.

Depp is suing Heard for a forum 2018 published by The Washington Post in which Heard called for a change in how the United States treats victims of abuse.

Heard said Depp slapped and berated her in front of the others

As Depp and Heard argued on the plane ride from the East Coast to Los Angeles in May 2014, “he called me a bitch,” Heard said.

At the time, they traveled with security personnel and Depp’s aides. Heard said Depp had been drinking and doing drugs before the flight – and once on board he assaulted her over an acting job she had just finished, where she filmed sex scenes with actor James Franco. Depp asked her about the scenes and if she enjoyed it.

“I find it hard to tell you how embarrassed I was because he was talking to me like that in front of people,” Heard told the jury.

When she moved to sit elsewhere, she said, Depp threw ice cubes and utensils at her, calling her an embarrassment. Then, she said, he slapped her.

“I remember moving more than once,” she said. “And Johnny came to me every time, not the other way around. He sat in front of me at one point, and because I don’t answer him – I was looking out the window – and he slaps me,” said he added. she says. Growing more emotional as she recounted the experience, she added, “And her friend is nearby. And me…it didn’t hurt me, it didn’t hurt my face, I I just felt embarrassed that he did this to me in front of people. It was the first time something like this had happened in front of someone.

“I didn’t know what to do about it,” Heard said.

When Heard moved again, Depp taunted and insulted her, she said. When she looked him in the eye, she said, it was like there was “a darkness” there.

“I wasn’t committing. I’m slowly backing away from him and he’s telling me to hurry up. Hurry up,” Heard said. She says she looked at him and turned to walk away.

“My back is turned to him, and I feel that boot on my back. It just kicked me, in the back. I fell to the ground and I grabbed myself on the ground, and I had the I felt like I was staring at the floor of the plane for what felt like a long time. And I was like, ‘I don’t know what to do. I can’t believe – did he just kick me?” Heard said.

“Nobody said anything. Nobody did anything…you could hear a pin drop in that plane. You could feel the tension, but nobody did anything. And I just remember being so embarrassed . kicking myself on the ground in front of people. And more embarrassingly, I didn’t know what to do about it,” she added.

Heard reported to him on the now infamous plane ride

Heard’s account of the robbery details the aftermath of his shooting The Adderall Logs alongside Franco in 2014. On May 24, she and Depp — who worked in Boston — shared a plane ride from Boston to Los Angeles. Depp was closely questioned about his condition on that trip in his own testimony, saying he took opioids and drank champagne.

Heard said she knew Depp was probably not sober when she waited a long time for him to join her on the plane after his car pulled up on the tarmac. When he boarded he reeked of alcohol and marijuana, she said.

As Depp began to ask her about her shoot with Franco, she added, “I could anticipate there was a no-win situation here.”

Heard said that when Depp asked him about romantic scenes with Franco, he was “saying really disgusting things about my body, about how I loved it.”

Heard says Depp’s jealousy has encroached on his career

As their relationship developed and the couple moved in together, Heard said, Depp began to control aspects of her career, allegedly telling her she didn’t need to work and asking her about it. the scripts. She said he was against her filming romantic or kissing scenes.

Heard also said Depp became furious with her choice of co-stars.

“He was mad at me for taking the job with James Franco,” Heard said of his decision to appear in The Adderall Logs.

“He hated – hated – James Franco, and was already accusing me of secretly having something with him in my past, since we had done Pineapple Express whole.”

Heard’s testimony focused on abuse and drugs

Heard began her testimony in Fairfax County Circuit Court on Wednesday, telling the court, “I can’t find the words to describe how painful it is. It’s horrible for me to sit still. here for weeks and relive it all.”

During more than two hours on Wednesday, Heard described years of alleged abuse by Depp, which she said was often prompted by his drug use. Depp denied committing violence against Heard and he accused Heard of domestic violence in his lengthy testimony.

During Depp’s testimony, the court heard recordings of the couple arguing.

“I’m sorry I didn’t hit you in the face with a good slap, but I was hitting you,” one incident was heard saying. “I wasn’t hitting you. Baby, you’re not hitting.”

The alleged incident happened less than a year before Heard and Depp’s wedding

Heard and Depp wed in February 2015. Heard filed for divorce in May 2016 and days later got a temporary restraining order accusing Depp of hitting her during a fight at their Los apartment. Angeles. Depp denied assaulting her, and police said they found no evidence of a crime.

When the two settled their divorce in 2017, the agreement would have included a stipulation in which they agreed not to discuss their relationship in public.
